Course content
This course is an introduction to Greco-Roman literature, studied in translation. The texts represent different genres and are studied in their historical context.
Learning outcome
A candidate who has passed the exam is expected to have the following learning outcome:
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge about ancient Greek and Roman literature, its function in contemporary times, its transmission and its importance in the European history of literature.
Skills
- Ability to identify literary genres and see connections in the history of literature
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and seminars.
Four learning activities (group presentations), where three out of four possible are mandatory.
