About the course

Course content

E-commerce and the digital economy, including business models (C2C, B2C og B2B). E-commerce in terms of social media og mobile platforms, as well as local e-commerce where geographical position is used in marketing and advertising. E-commerce relates to online media, and social communities in terms of both commodities and services. The customer's role in e-commerce.

Learning outcome

Knowledge

The student can:

  • explain the terms e-commerce and e-business
  • explain the ongoing development in C2C, B2C, B2B, social, mobile and local e-commerce, and digital economy.
  • explain marketing and advertising in e-commerce, including the role of social relations
  • explain e-commerce within specific domains like media, social communities, commodities, services and B2B, with focus on small to medium businesses.
  • discuss business models and strategies for sustainable e-commerce

Skills

The student can:

  • participate in strategic planning in regards to business models for C2C, B2C og C2C e-commerce
  • evalute methods of marketing, sales and customer care for e-commerce

Generell knowledge

The student:

  • has a general overview of developement and opportunities in e-commerce and digital economy
  • can contribute in developling business models and strategies that take advantage of e-commerce opportunities

Learning methods and activities

Seminars, lectures, group activities in project and excercise.

Grading: Project report. Group project. Individual assessment of the project can be given.

All students in the group will normally receive the same grade based on the group assignment. In special cases where a student has not contributed sufficiently, a student may be given individual grades based on documented lack of effort and/or workload.

In the event of voluntary repetition, fail (F) or valid absence, the entire project must be retaken in a semester with teaching.
