Course content

The subject seeks to increase competence in the use of digital media in teaching and communication. Challenges in using digital media in learning processes, communication and production are central topics. The course will develop the students’ ability to act as critical consumers and to manage creative digital production processes related to teaching and learning. In the course, digital competence is seen in relation to networks, privacy protection, source criticism and privacy matters as well as strategic learning design and assessment.


Learning outcome

The student has
- knowledge about and experience with the use of digital media in global networks
- understanding of the potential of digital media in a learning and teaching context
- knowledge of source criticism, copyright and privacy protection in digital contexts
- competence in digital text production and collaboration, evaluation and influence

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminars, digital production and communication, student presentations.

Compulsory assignments

  • Regular documentation and communication in a digital work folder
  • Oral Presentations

Assessment: Digital exam portfolio with selected items from a digital work portfolio and a theoretical meta text presenting an argument for the selection.

The evalutation form is passed / failed, so improving one's grade is not relevant for this course.

The written assignment is the final part of the exam, and it is based on work that the student has done throughout the semester. The student must have passed these in order to be qualified for taking the final exam. If the student has failed the final exam, it is possible to resit this specific part of the evaluation arrangement.

Required previous knowledge

30 study points in social sciences or 30 study points in the target language (English, French og German). The requirement must be fulfilled to be admitted to the course.
