About

About the course

Course content

Performers and creative professionals work within a field of culture characterized by a number of institutional guides, such as support schemes, quest competitions or the taste of critics and audiences. Establishing oneself in the market requires talent, skills and an understanding of how the processes in the field of culture work. How can knowledge of cultural entrepreneurship help one to succeed? In this course, the applied aesthetic field is connected to concepts such as innovation and entrepreneurship. Its objective is to give students knowledge of the ways in which innovation and entrepreneurship can be understood within the field of aesthetics, and how this knowledge can produce a deeper understanding of their own work.

The course provides an introduction to theories of cultural entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as experience in project-oriented work in groups. Work-related issues are addressed from idea to implementation. The main goals are to give the candidate a realistic relationship to the development of a creative work situation in today's society, and to strengthen reflection and understanding of their own practice in a societal perspective. Prior to the group-based project, the candidate will gain a conceptual understanding, support schemes, promotion, etc. Communication of and reflection on one's own practice is central. The course will consist of both written and theoretical aspects in addition to practical project work.
