About the course

Course content

Review of central organizational features of sports and school (physical education and sports) and how to understand organizational practices within perspectives of social sciences.

Emphasis is placed on communication, knowledge sharing, and power structures related to physical education and sports. The students will work with concrete organizational issues in sports and physical education.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

  • The student should gain insight into the different organizational theories, as well as the organization of sports and physical education, both locally and nationally.

Skills:

  • Students should be able to analyze organizational challenges within physical education and sports, and discuss different solution strategies in light of theoretical and empirical understanding.
