Course content

Review of the postmodern organization theories in general and New Public Management in particular. It will focus on communication, knowledge sharing and power structures within the sports and physical education.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student should gain insight into the different organizational theories. Students will gain insight into the organization of sports and physical education, both locally and nationally.

Skills: Students should be able to analyze organizational challenges within physical education and sports, and discuss different solution strategies at various levels of the organization.

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.

Physical Education and Sport with Teacher Education (MLKIDR)
Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education for Years 1-7 (MGLU1-7)
Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education for Years 5-10 (MGLU5-10)
Sport Sciences (MIDR)

Required previous knowledge

Admission to the 5-year programme Master of Science in Physical Education and Sport with Teacher Education and Master in Sport Science.
