About the course

Course content

The course offers an extended training in the study of science and technology, with an emphasis on historical and social scientific conceptions of technology.

Learning outcome

The course aims at familiarizing students with cultural-scientific analyses of modern science and technology and their interplay with social, political, economical, and cultural processes of change.

Learning methods and activities

Assessment is based on a portfolio of written work: two assignments, each 2-3 pages long, as well as a larger work of 13-15 to be submitted at the end of term. The first two assignments must be passed in order for the longer essay to be accepted. Collective assessment. Letter grade.

Compulsory assignments

  • Two obligatory written exercises (3-4 pages)
