About the course

Course content

The course provides an introduction to the ways in which various psychological theories and empirical studies apply to the organizational context. The Norwegian Working Environment Act will be introduced, in addition to important topics and themes within the field of work and organizational psychology. Implications for leadership are essential to the course. The course will provide an introduction to the organizational application of theory and empirical research related to e.g. emotions, learning and personality. The course will also introduce various issues from the applied area of organizational psychology (e.g. work-life balance, employee selection, organizational change and sustainability).

Learning outcome

Knowledge: Demonstrating knowledge on topics and themes that are relevant to the organizational context. Demonstrating knowledge on the The Norwegian Working Environment Act.

Skills: Being able to apply, discuss and critically reflect upon various psychological perspectives and implications to the organizational context and leadership.

General competency: Understanding psychological perspectives and their implications to the organizational context and leadership.

Lectures 2 hours per week and groupwork
