About the course

Course content

The Practice will be linked to a company in which students can practice their knowledge in work and organizational psychology. Students receive a limited assignment from the company. The assignment can be anything from a work environment survey, observation, interviewing, literature review and presentation, being a change agent, or contributing in personnel / HR departments, etc. The students will participate in experience exchange seminars during the semester, and they will be assigned a supervisor from the department. Furthermore, they will have to give an oral presentation about the process, learning outcomes and goal achievements at the end of the internship. It will be assessed as not passed / passed.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student has thorough knowledge of how to utilise the work and organizational theoretical perspective in a practical context Skills: Students know how to utilise work organisation theoretical knowledge, analyse and manage practical issues of a work and organizational theory perspective General competence: The student is able to critically analyse practical issues in the workplace. Students know how to utilise work- and organisational theoretical perspective on practical work- and organisational challenges

Learning methods and activities

Seminar and practice. Mandatory attendance at a company during a period of time and experience exchange seminars.

Compulsory assignments

  • Compulsory internship (200 hours)
  • Participation in the startup meeting and reflection and experience-sharing seminar
  • Submission of problem statement
  • Oral presentation at the reflection and experience-sharing seminar, oral presentation for the student group

Further on evaluation

Obligatory activities must be approved before the exam. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Psychology (MPSY) - some programmes
