Learning methods and activities
The course is administered by a supervisor. This allows a large degree of adaptation to individual approaches to problems. The course includes 10 hours of supervision including preparation and supplementary work. (This is in addition to ordinary supervision). The course is to have the following contents:
-Approved individual study syllabus (ca. 400 pages).
-Completed supervision- 10 hours, individually or in a group with candidates working on the same topics.
-The candidate is to hand in a written piece of work which accounts for the approaches to problems discussed between the supervisor and candidate. Form, scope and level of the written assignment are described in the submission form (available on the Department's websites).
-The candidate is to make a presentation of the written assignment in an academic forum approved by the supervisor.
Registration for emnet is done via StudentWeb, but requires in addition that the PhD candidate personally establishes contact with a potential academic supervisor at the Department of Psychology. An agreement will be made between the candidate and the supervisor on a separate form which is available from the Department of Psychology. The course is reserved for candidates admitted to the PhD programme in Psychology.
