About
About the course
Course content
The master’s thesis must include an independent scientific analysis of a topic within economics. The topic and analysis for the master’s thesis must be approved by the Department of Economics (ISØ). All students are entitled to supervision, and it is expected that you take advantage of the supervision offered. The department will appoint/assign a supervisor once the research question for the master’s thesis has been approved. The master’s thesis should generally be written in pairs. It is not allowed for more than two students to write together. If there is a particular need to submit the master’s thesis alone, the department can grant an exception to this rule. This must be applied for well in advance of starting the work. Supervision can be provided in English. The master’s thesis is assumed to have a scope corresponding to one semester’s work, and the work must be carried out in accordance with ISØ’s guidelines for master’s theses (https://www.ntnu.no/studier/msok/masteroppgaven).
