Course content
Why are some countries rich while others are poor? This is the central question of growth economics. The course introduces students to cutting-edge research in a number of subthemes within growth economics. The course covers six overarching themes: (1) Dynamic Macroeconomic Models; (2) Capital Accumulation and Total Factor Productivity; (3) Private Savings, Investment and Growth Outcomes; (4) Learning by Doing and Human Capital; (5) R&D and Endogenous Technological Change; (6) Applications to Short-Run and Long-Run Analysis.
