Course content

The course cover constrcution projects as production systems bases on theroy and tools from Lean Construction, a production management-based approach to project delivery.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:
- The history of project based production and Lean Construction
- Clients and products of the construction project
- The construction project as a production system
- Fundamental production theory
- Design of projects as production systems

Skills:
- Identifying the the clients of the project and their requirements and needs
- Evaluate different project execution models
- Choose between different approahes to production management
- Plan og control the production in construction projects

General competence:
- A thorough understanding of the design and construction process as a production system.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, videos, games and simulations in groups.

Further on evaluation

In the case of a postponed exam the written exam may be replaced by an oral one.

Specific conditions

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
