About the course

Course content

The course is basic for analysis and use of electric and electronic components in power, telecommunication and cybernetic systems. The course also aims to give basic training in laboratory work with simple electric circuits and standard instrumentation.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:
After completing the course the student shall understand and be able to calculate:
- dynamic analysis of RLC-circuits in the time domain
- current, voltage and power in circuits under stationary sinusoidal conditions
- mutual inductance and magnetic coupling
- linear and ideal transformer
- ideal operational amplifiers
- Laplace transform in electric circuits
- transfer functions
- frequency selective circuits; passive and active filters

Skills:
After completing the course, the student shall have:
- a good basis for analysis of electrical and electronic components in electronics, electric power engineering, telecommunication and control engineering.
- experience in simple laboratory setups and the use of standard instruments.
- experience using simulation tools and MatLab

General competence:
After completing the course, the candidate has:
- increased skills in cooperation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Permitted examination aids, support material code D: No printed or hand-written support material is allowed. A specific basic calculator is allowed. In addition, calculator Casio fx-991EX is allowed. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may change from written to oral.
