About the course

Course content

Specialization is offered in a variety of topics related to geology and rock mechanics, such as: investigations of rock and soil, slope stability in rock and soil, utilization of the underground in urban areas, stability and support of underground excavations, water leakage and grouting in underground excavations, groundwater resources in soil and rock, waste disposal in soil and rock.

Learning outcome

Ingress:
- The student will learn to specialize in a specific topic within the field.

Knowledge:
- Learn scientific methods through completion of an independent project within the field.

Skills:
- The student will be able to prepare a project plan with milestones, reporting partial results and writing a project report in accordance with established standards.

General competence:
Have a scientific basis for the completion of the master thesis in the field.

Learning methods and activities

Invidual project work under supervision.

Required previous knowledge

Engineering geology of rocks AC, Engineering geology of soils AC or similar background.
