Course content

1. Linear algebra:
Linear systems of equations.
Gaussian elimination.
Matrix operations.
Linear independence.

2. Calculus:
Sequences and series.
Univariate functions.
Continuity, differentiation and integration, with applications.
Numerical methods for differentiation, integration and equation solving.
Laplace transform and differential equations.

Learning outcome

1. Knowledge. The student understands and is able to recognize and apply concepts, results, and methods from univariate analysis and linear algebra. The student has basic knowledge of mathematical software.

2. Skills. The student is able to apply his or her knowledge of univariate mathematical analysis and linear algebra to formulate and solve simple problems in mathematics and electronics systems design, if necessary with the additional aid of mathematical software.

Retake of examination may be given as an oral examination.

Specific conditions

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
