Course content
In a number of projects (4-6) students explore different materials and production methods. In focus is the interplay between aestethics, function, form, material and production method.
Learning outcome
Knowledge: Materialgroups and relevant materialproperties for design work. Overview of industrial and craft based production methods.
Skills: Goal oriented product design, focusing on materials and production processes possibilities and limitations.
General qualifications: Use of different materials and production methods to fullfill defined product spcifications.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, project work, assignments, model making, excursions to local manufacturing industries. A verbal presentation of the results is included in the project assignments.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industriell design (MTDESIG)

TPD4121 Design 3 - Use. Limited to students in the Industrial Design Engineering program.
