About the course
Course content
The course integrates vocational subjects and professional pedagogy and provides insight into vocational education and training from both a school and societal perspective. It covers the school’s mandate, the school as an organization, and the history and significance of vocational education and training. Students work with entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative working methods to develop vocational competence. The course strengthens R&D competence through engagement in research and development processes and the dissemination of results. Digital competence, creativity, and communication are included as key elements in teaching and developmental work.

Knowledge
The student has:
- insight into vocational education and training from both a school and societal perspective.

The student:
- can analyse and apply knowledge about vocational education and training from a school and societal perspective in the planning and implementation of teaching.
- can use historical and societal understanding of vocational education and training to justify didactic choices and develop relevant learning activities.
- can use national and international research and development work to develop, justify, and improve vocational education and training.
- can plan and carry out learning activities that integrate entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative working methods in the development of vocational competence.
- can apply R&D competence in practice, including developing ideas, planning, conducting, evaluating, and disseminating research and development work.
- can use digital competence, creativity, and communication to support, express, and further develop subject-specific content in vocational education and training.

Learning methods and activities
The course includes student-active learning and assessment methods, including digital activities on and between campus sessions. There are mandatory coursework requirements that must be approved in order to take the exam.

Further on evaluation
The exam is assessed individually on a grading scale of A-F, where grades A-E are passed and grade F is failed.
The exam assignment involves creating a digital narrative, where you use digital tools to tell a story. The story should be based on the course's learning outcome descriptions and syllabus.
