European Studies (Master's Programme)

Study environment

Eureka is the main student association for European Studies. It organizes various extra-curricular activities throughout the academic year, and makes an important contribution to creating a stimulating social and academic study environment at NTNU.

Already the first day of the academic year we welcome new students, and the rest of the year we arrange various social events for the Eureka-students, such as study trips, gatherings and guest lectures by NTNU-based and foreign academics and with industry representatives in the region. Eureka also has two football teams: FET (FC Eureka Trondheim) and DREP (De Rustne Eureka-Pikene). Every second year we organize a study trip to Brussels for European Studies students to get a first-hand experience of the bustling European capital, visit various European institutions and meet with European officials.

Visit the EUREKA site (mainly in Norwegian)

Since European Studies is an international master's programme, you will meet many students from all over the world in addition to Norwegian students.

Trondheim is also known for having many student-run associations including sports, culture, start-ups, and politics. See also this list of international student organizations.

If you like sports or the outdoors, you can join the student gym, go hiking or skiing in Bymarka, or simply walk along the fjord and enjoy the stunning view.
