The program runs over two years and consists of four semesters.

Select by year to find the correct version of the studyplan MFA programme's online study plan.

Participation in the interdisciplinary course Experts in Teamwork (EiT) is mandatory. This course is taken together with students from other fields at NTNU.

In the final semester of the 2nd year, students must submit a written thesis reflecting on their MFA project or artistic work, prepare a portfolio documenting their practice, present their MFA project in the Master’s Exhibition (with venues varying from year to year), and host a seminar connected to the exhibition.

For the final examination, external reviewer(s) are invited. The student is required to present and defend both their thesis and the work displayed in the Master’s Exhibition.
