Matriculation ceremony – welcome ceremony for new students at NTNU

Time: 14.00 

Location: Behind the main building at Gløshaugen

You will participate in this formal ceremony together with your buddy group. The ceremony will include musical performances, speeches and you will get a glimpse into life as a student at NTNU.

Thursday 14 August - digital meeting for all students at IMU

Jazz section - PANGSTART 2025!
PANGSTART for all students (BA and MA) and faculty at NTNU Jazzlinja (jazz department)
Dates: Tuesday August 19 (after the start-up meeting) and Wednesday August 20 (daytime)

Times and program for PANGSTART will be announced later

In week 34, classical string and wind students are involved in a project with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.
(There might be smaller projects the same week for other instrument sections - you will be informed if this applies to your section.)

1st year: info meeting 09.00- 12.00, (First lecture performance psychology class,  14.15- 16.00)
1st year and 2nd year MA: lunch together 12.00- 13.00 
2nd year: info meeting 13.00- 15.00

Wednesday August 27:
1st and 2nd year Master Forum Fay at Ringve Museum 09.30- 16.00. More info will come

(Thursday August 28:
1st year: first lecture and discussion groups Reflection on musical performance, 10.15- 12.00 and 12.30-14.00) 

If you are a new master student at the Department of music and you wish to join Buddy Week activites (Fadderuka), you can contact the student union.

The student union for performing music students is called Notelinjeforeningen

Information about programme and sign-up will be provided.


Tuesday 12th August

Join Buddy week kick-off hosted by Studentersamfundet and get a social start of studies. All new students are welcome to participate

Time: 14:00

Location: Elgeseter Park

 

During the Orientation week, you will get to know NTNU, your city and other international students in fun ways, and learn everything you need to know to get started in Norway and settle in at NTNU. The Office of International Relations arranges the orientation week.

(PS! The activities during "Orientation Week for new students" are optional, and some of them might collide with mandatory meetings or activities at the Department of music. When in doubt, contact your student advisor.)
