The purpose of the Nordic Master Programme in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering is to provide state-of-the-art education in the fields of conventional and renewable energy sources like conventional and new power generation, solar energy, biomass energy, wind power and energy utilization in the built environment by means of economically and environmentally sustainable systems and technologies.

As an Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineer there are plenty of opportunities to find a job. Energy engineering related companies have an increasing potential to offer, not only in conventional energy technologies but also in the increasing business of renewable energies. A list of potential companies (mostly located in Norway, but also international) you can find at Energikontakten, an university organization at NTNU in Trondheim, that connects energy related companies to students.

In the joint degree programme, students study one year at two different universities following a Year one university/Year two university pattern:

  • Year one (entry) university, 1st and 2nd semester
  • Year two (exit) university, 3rd and thesis semester

The length of the study period in each university corresponds to 60 ECTS.

The focus of ISEE is to provide a state-of-the-art education in the fields of conventional and renewable energy sources like conventional and new power generation, solar energy, biomass energy, wind power, and energy utilisation in the built environment by means of economically and environmentally sustainable systems and technologies. The programme is structured as pre-defined study and mobility tracks with associated competence profiles.

Nordic Master programmes, such as ISEE, have their own application times and admission criteria separately from Aalto's other Master's programmes. The application period is once a year and runs from December to January. The exact application dates are updated on these pages every year.

The application process is administered by Aalto University.
