Programme structure

The master’s degree programme in Digital Infrastructure and Cyber Security takes two years and represents 120 credits. It is an international programme taught in English.

It is largely a research-based programme based on knowledge, skills, and general competence from a bachelor’s degree programme in digital infrastructure and cyber security.

1st year of study

This year of study will provide you with the necessary basis for further specialization in the second year. It includes seven technical courses of 7.5 credits each, as well as the compulsory course Experts in Teams (EiT) that will provide you with practical experience in interdisciplinary cooperation.

2nd year of study

In this year of study, you may elect courses from a specific list of courses to acquire in-depth knowledge of topics within digital infrastructure and cyber security, according to your own interests. You will also do a specialization project of 7.5 credits.

​​​​The programme is concluded by a master’s thesis of 30 credits that involves independent research within a specialization of your own choice.
 


Internationalization

This is an international master’s degree programme with fifty per cent international students. Norwegian students are encouraged to take a semester at a foreign institution.

For this programme of study NTNU has a double degree agreement with the University of Bologna, Italy.
