Course content
The main theme is the relationship between people and places, and it is focused on why and how people and places are mutually constitutive. The course offers different approaches to concepts of and theories on social difference, identity and place, as well as empirical oriented research questions related to these. For example, it is focused on how class, gender, ethnicity and sexuality are related to place. As part of the course the students have to write an individual work paper to be distributed among the other students and the teacher(s) and presented in a seminar. The work paper must be approved before access to home exam and oral examination is allowed. The work paper is preliminary graded to be adjusted after the oral exam.
