Teaching support

Do you have an idea for a teaching plan but are unsure how to implement it? Or do you need assistance with planning and conducting digital or hybrid teaching? We are happy to help!

How can BLINK contribute?

How can BLINK contribute?

Good teaching can be characterized by a good alignment between learning objectives, learning activities, and assessment methods, known as constructive alignment. BLINK can offer a platform to discuss topics at the intersection of your subject, pedagogy, didactics, space, technology, and administrative aspects. We can also organize workshops and connect you with relevant collaborators.

BLINK has created a workshop focused on artificial intelligence (AI), teaching, and examinations. The aim of the workshop is to enhance understanding of what artificial intelligence is and how it can be utilized in academic and teaching contexts. Additionally, it addresses the challenges and opportunities related to assessment and exams from both pedagogical and legal perspectives.

The workshop can be organized for entire departments or smaller groups of staff, scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. BLINK can provide both a facilitator and a "secretary", and will summarize the workshop upon completion.

By participating in this workshop, you will have the opportunity to initiate or continue an internal dialogue about artificial intelligence, particularly text generators, in academia and examinations. You can share experiences related to various forms of assessment and exam design, discuss issues of plagiarism, and brainstorm potential immediate measures for your subject or academic environment.

The workshop on artificial intelligence is part of the resource bank and toolbox of the BLINK learning hub.

In collaborative teaching, it is crucial to ensure that communication remains interactive, rather than becoming one-sided, which can often happen during digital lectures. If you have the opportunity to work with a teaching assistant who has previously taken the course, they can be a valuable resource for conducting digital study groups and seminars.

Teaching assistants can engage with student groups closely, facilitating discussions and collaborative work using platforms like Blackboard Collaborate and Zoom. They can also assist in creating instructional materials such as videos and podcasts. If you need help setting up and monitoring digital platforms, BLINK's teaching assistants can assist with this, contingent upon their availability.

Additionally, BLINK can provide valuable insights to you and your teaching assistants on topics such as:

  • Leading group work and discussions in Blackboard Collaborate and Zoom
  • Creating instructional videos, podcasts, and assignments for students
  • Clarifying expectations, group agreements, and digital meeting etiquette
