Project activities until the summer can be solved digitally
NTNU is doing its utmost to maintain the level of activity within the advice and guidelines of the authorities, including digital solutions. This also applies to the large state investment projects at NTNU in 2020: NTNU unified campus, Ocean Space Center and Elgeseter Gate 10.
- The Ministry of Education is committed to keeping progress in the projects. The same applies to us who work with the projects from NTNU and Statsbygg. We see that the planned activity level in the projects is mostly solved with digital solutions, says Project Director Merete Kvidal.
Corporate social responsibility as a state actor
Many of our external partners are currently experiencing serious professional and financial consequences as a result of the corona outbreak.
In all three projects, NTNU works closely with Statsbygg, whom in this crisis are doing what they can to get new projects and contracts in the building and construction market, as well as the consultant and the architectural industry.
- As state actors, we can contribute to the national benefit. That is why we do what we can to limit the financial consequences for society by keeping production and activity going as normally as possible, says Merete Kvidal.
Shields the core business
At NTNU, there is a need to shield our core business during the most critical period now. Therefore, we carefully consider all project activity that requires a large amount of work from our line organization.
This is, for example, an activity in working groups. The workload is covered as far as possible by employees in NTNU's project unit. NTNU's internal project managers for the three projects, keep participants in working groups and affected management at various levels continuously informed.
The need for information about the projects in the organization is clarified in consultation with the Rectorate, Deans and department heads.
Information meeting about NTNU unified campus - Plan Initiative
April 15th at 6-8 p.m. NTNU, Trondheim municipality and Statsbygg invite everyone interested to a digital information meeting on NTNU unified campus. The reason is that at the end of April, Statsbygg submits a planning initiative for the campus assembly for treatment in the municipality of Trondheim.
The meeting is open to all interested parties, but will be held in Norwegian.
