The 9th seminar on Exercise in Medicine

Welcome to Exercise in Medicine

CERG ended 2022 with hosting the 9th Seminar on Exercise in Medicine on the 14‑15th of December in Trondheim. The main purpose was to present and discuss recent progress of using exercise in medicine, as well as to preserve and establish networks for current and future research collaborations.

We gathered novice and experienced researchers within the fields of dementia prevention, cardiac remodeling, biomarkers of cardiovascular health, and the biology and genetics of exercise as medicine for an intimate two-day seminar. The seminar was dedicated to our dear colleague and friend Professor Øyvind Ellingsen who is retiring after a long and interesting career.

All in all, we had a great couple of days together in Trondheim. We would like to use this opportunity to thank all participants, the aspiring young researchers who presented their findings at the poster session and of course all our fantastic speakers. They shared recent updates from their respective fields of research and contributed to fruitful discussions about the future of exercise in medicine. There were 20 speakers in total, including several of NTNU and CERG’s own, in addition to other renowned researchers from across Norway. A special thanks to Sanjay Sharma, Yannis Pitsiladis and Thijs Eijsvogels for making the trip from the UK and the Netherlands. We were honored to have you!
