About the Chemical Conversion of Waste Innovation Hub

 

Co-operation agreement with Quantafuel

The Department of Chemical Engineering at NTNU has signed a co-operation agreement with Quantafuel. The agreement covers research related to recycling of plastics and conversion of biomass for production of sustainable and value-added products and is also the starting point for the new innovation hub at the department, with a special focus on chemical conversion of waste.

Quantafuel is a Norwegian-based company that upgrades plastic waste, by chemical recycling, into valuable products that are in high demand, and thereby contributes to solving the global waste problem.

The Innovation Hub will focus on:

  • Knowledge transfer; share technical, environmental and economic information on chemical recycling
  • Research; joint projects and educate students and researchers on chemical recycling
  • Innovation; provide technical solutions for chemical recycling
