About Teaching

About

Emil completed his undergraduate and graduate work in communication at Western Michigan University while his post-graduate work in mass communication is from Ohio University.  His interest in studying mass communication is rooted in his work experience, research and fascination with converged media. Over the last fifteen years, Emil has produced and programmed interactive media for marketing, advertising and education. He started his career in media as an instructional media designer, developing interactive applications to facilitate learning. However, the majority of his professional career was in New York City marketing and advertising working with a multitude of clients and projects at agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi. Emil’s primary area of research focuses on uses of new media technologies. Specifically, his research concentrates on mobile communication competence, social networking and mobile media contexts. Emil’s research has been presented at conferences and published in academic journals.
