About

Shen Yin is the DNV Endowed Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He earned his Dr.-Ing. and MSc degrees from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. His current research focuses on the fundamental principles and methodological development underlying

  • Fault diagnosis, prognosis, and fault-tolerant mechanisms
  • Machine learning and data-driven modeling for reliability analysis and decision-making
  • Assurance frameworks for artificial intelligence and digital-twin-based systems
