About

Sigmund Arntsønn Tronvoll is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at NTNU. His fields of expertise include metal forming, additive manufacturing, machine elements and aircraft engineering.

His research focuses mainly on the manufacturing of aluminium components, as well as additive manufacturing more broadly. He teaches machine elements and to students in mechanical engineering master’s and bachelor’s programmes, respectively. He also teaches aircraft components and structures and aircraft maintenance-related subjects in the bachelor’s programme in aircraft engineering. He supervises bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students.
