FME BATTERY: Advancing a Sustainable Battery Value Chain
Our centre brings together more than 40 leading partners to drive research on next generation, sustainable and circular battery technologies. Our work spans the entire value chain, from mineral extraction and material processing to cell manufacturing, system development, use phases and end of life solutions, where recycling plays a crucial role.
Battery technology represents one of the most significant industrial opportunities of this decade. By uniting key Norwegian actors and strengthening our position in an international context, we aim to accelerate research, innovation and education across the value chain and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME)
FME is the Norwegian Research Council's arrangement for research activities carried out in close collaboration between research groups, trade and industry, and the public administration. Key tasks include international cooperation and researcher training.
