Webinar Recording Now Available: Cutting Through the “Superbattery” Hype (in Norwegian)

17.03.2026

The recording from our recent lunch webinar with battery researcher Frode Håskjold Fagerli (SINTEF) is now available.

Around 90 participants tuned in live on 13 March to hear Fagerli bring clarity to the growing stream of media stories about so‑called “superbatteries”.

The feedback from attendees was, on the whole, very positive, emphasising both the clarity of the presentation and the value of having a fact‑based overview of current battery technology.

In his compact, accessible talk, Fagerli explored two central questions:

  • How realistic are the breakthrough batteries we keep reading about?
  • Are we approaching a physical limit for how much energy a battery can store?

Drawing on his background in nanotechnology from NTNU, a PhD in rechargeable batteries, and hands‑on experience with scaling up battery production, Fagerli offered a grounded and insightful guide to what represents genuine progress, and what is mostly hype.

As research lead for WP4: Manufacturing in FME BATTERY, his perspective bridges fundamental science and industrial implementation, making him an ideal speaker for anyone seeking a clearer understanding of where battery technology is actually heading.
