The Faculty of Information technology and Electrical engineering (IE) hosts a number of activities and projects in the cyber security domain. These can be divided into research and development activities with the principal focus on cyber and information security, and those where cyber and information security research and development are contributing factors. The latter include initiatives that encompass several constituents of the faculty.

We are set to become a leading academic research and education community for cyber security in Europe. Through collaboration and partnerships with academia and the public and private sectors, we will be a high-profile national resource and a catalyst for international cooperation in cyber security.

Our departments engaged in cyber security are primarily the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology; Computer Science; Mathematical Sciences; and Electronic Systems, with cross-cutting activities also in Engineering Cybernetics.
