Tor Grande

Tor Grande is the Rector of NTNU — the Norwegian University of Science and Technology — and Chairman of Universities Norway. He is a Professor of Materials Chemistry and Science at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Grande holds an MSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry, both from NTH (now NTNU).

Chris Brown

Chris Brown is Head of the WHO European Office for Investment for Health and Development in Venice, Italy. She leads a multidisciplinary team supporting European health networks, national authorities, and partners to implement social, economic, gender and rights- based policies for health and health equity.

Odd Nikolas Hanssen

Odd Nikolas Hanssen is a development and health economist, with an interest in the intersection of economic and health policy and a background in fiscal policy and health. He has worked across the country, regional and HQ levels of the WHO, across multiple regions, as well as being a global expert on taxation and health with UNDP, and a researcher with the International Monetary Fund.

Cathrine Marie Lofthus

Cathrine Marie Lofthus serves as Director General of the Norwegian Directorate of Health (Helsedirektoratet), a position she has held since August 2025. Dr. Lofthus brings extensive leadership experience across Norway's healthcare system and a distinguished record of service to global health governance. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Lofthus served as Secretary General (Departementsråd) at the Ministry of Health and Care Services from 2021 to 2025, where she played a pivotal role in shaping national health policy.  In May 2024, she was elected to the World Health Organization's Executive Board, reflecting international recognition of her contributions to health leadership.

Hans Petter Ulleberg

Hans Petter Ulleberg, professor at the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning and Vice-dean for research, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Ulleberg holds a Ph.D. in Education from 2006 and is employed as Professor in Education at NTNU. He has been Head of the Department of Education from 2009-2016 and Head of the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning from 2016-2021. Ulleberg has from 2011 to 2021 led the National Academic Council for Educational Sciences, Universities Norway (UHR).

Peter Goldblatt

Peter Goldblatt is a senior advisor at the Institute of Health Equity and a consultant to the WHO European Office. His main activities are in the field of measurement and monitoring, and contributing to European and other international projects to review and monitor the social determinants of health.

Sophie Howe

Described by The Guardian as 'the World's First Minister for the Unborn' and by The New Statesman as leading a Welsh plot to save the world, between 2016 and 2023 Sophie Howe was the first Future Generations Commissioner for Wales — the only role of its kind in the world. She now advises other countries and corporates on implementing long-term governance, is a Future Governance Adviser at the School of International Futures, a Global Ambassador for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance.

Tone Poulsson Torgersen

Tone Poulsson Torgersen is Head of the Policy and Research Department at the National Health Association (Nasjonalforeningen for folkehelsen). She has experience from public health work at the municipal level, but most notably extensive experience from central government processes related to the development of public health policy in Norway, through positions at the Norwegian Directorate of Health and the Ministry of Health and Care Services.

Lena Yri Engelsen

Lena Yri Engelsen is the founder and secretary-general of National Association 1001 Days, an organization that works purposefully to include the mental health of parents and families in our healthcare system. She holds a Master of Public Relations and a Bachelor of Business with a specialization in marketing. Lena is a strong advocate for early and knowledge-based efforts in the first 1001 days from conception to the child's second birthday, for the whole family.

Mojca Gabrijelčič Blenkuš

Dr. Mojca Gabrijelčič Blenkuš is a medical doctor and a specialist in public health. She also has a PhD in social sciences. Her fields of interest and expertise are nutrition, physical activity, and in last few years, aging and frailty. She was head of the Health Promotion centre at the NIPH Slovenia from 2003 to 2010. Today, she is mostly involved in policy and programme development, and in research projects.

Gabriele Pastorino

Gabriele Pastorino is an economist specialized in health systems and policies. He began his career in academia at Bocconi University in Milan and at IRDES in Paris. Since 2006, he has worked internationally with non governmental organizations and, from 2008, with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, where he established the Health Systems and Policy Monitor (HSPM). He joined WHO/Europe in 2017, where he led the health systems governance programme.

Niels Højberg

Niels Højberg is a Danish public administration expert and Senior Consultant at Aarhus University. Formerly City Director of Aarhus Municipality, he now works on public leadership, governance, and municipal collaboration research at the Department of Political Science and King Fredriks Centre for Public Leadership at Aarhus University, He is also Chairman of Red Cross Aarhus.

Dóra Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir

Dr. Dóra Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir is Director of Public Health at the Directorate of Health in Iceland. She is trained clinical and organisational psychologist and holds a PhD in public health. Her research interests focus on wellbeing and finding reliable measures to evaluate population´s wellbeing. She has served as a governmental expert on mental health for the EU and on Wellbeing Economy for WHO.

Mariana Dyakova

Assoc. prof. Mariana Dyakova, MD, MPH, PHD, FFPH, is a Technical Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health and Well-being at Public Health Wales and Head of International Health. She leads an interdisciplinary “Well-being Economy and Health” portfolio, focusing on sustainable investment in prevention and value driven public health.

Gary Gillespie

Dr. Gary Gillespie was appointed Director and Scottish Government Chief Economic Adviser in 2011. He joined the civil service in 2000 from the Fraser of Allander Institute (University of Strathclyde) where his research interests included Scottish economy, regional economic modelling and foreign direct investment. He provides economic advice to the First Minister and Ministers across a range of strategic economic issues.

Merita Mesiäislehto

Merita Mesiäislehto is Research Manager at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and Adjunct Professor of Social and Public Policy at the University of Helsinki. She is an expert in comparative welfare state research and social sustainability, with a focus on social and economic inequalities, social protection and their impacts on the wellbeing of vulnerable populations.

Lisa Hough-Stewart

Lisa is Interim Director of Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEAll) Scotland and has been part of the WEAll team since it was established in 2018. At WEAll Global, Lisa focused on putting wellbeing economy ideas into practice, particularly with policymakers across Europe.

Inga Marte Thorkildsen

Inga Marte Thorkildsen is a former Minister for Children, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, a former MP and Vice Mayor in Oslo. She is an author, podcaster and political advisor with a long-standing commitment to social justice, equality, and children’s rights.

Thea Birgitte Erfjord

Thea Birgitte Erfjord is the leader of the youth development and environmental organisation Spire. She holds a Master’s degree in International Environmental Studies from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and has worked on issues related to wellbeing of future generations and degrowth through her work with Spire.

Øyvind Giæver

Øyvind Giæver is a philosopher by training, with a PhD on the use of medical experts in political decision-making processes. He has worked in the central health administration for many years, including in the Biotechnology Council, in the Ministry of Health and, since 2004, in the Directorate of Health. Currently, he is the director of the Department for social determinants of health in the Directorate.

Solveig Korum

PhD with expertise in change management, sustainable development, youth development, cultural policy, music education, and the role of art in peacebuilding. Currently, I lead the Task Force for Norway’s National Mission on Inclusion of Children and Youth at the Norwegian Research Council, coordinating cross-sector efforts to reduce exclusion and strengthen participation.

Hildegunn Brattvåg

Hildegunn Brattvåg is a strategic leader in public health. She is currently acting executive director of the WHO Healthy cities Norway. Prior experience as Project Lead for the Public Health Strategy for the City Government of Oslo and Senior Adviser in the Norwegian Directorate of Health. The start of her work life was in various NGOs promoting childrens rights.

Ragnhild Bang Nes

Ragnhild Bang Nes is a Norwegian psychologist, researcher, and Associate Professor at University of Oslo. She is also a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, specializing in wellbeing, mental health, quality of life, and resilience research.

Elina Dale

Elina Dale, PhD, is a scientist at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) with more than 20 years of experience in global health systems research, policy reform, and international collaboration. She has extensive experience working in fragile and conflict‑affected settings, including Afghanistan and Ukraine. Prior to joining NIPH, she served as a Health Policy Adviser with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Ukraine, where she supported health system reform and the continuity of essential services during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Kaja Wold

Kaja Wold is a project manager at Save the Children Norway, leading Helt ærlig!, a democracy and participation initiative that connects young people with local decision-makers. She works at the intersection of youth participation, public sector innovation, and cross-sector collaboration, with a focus on how children and young people’s voices can inform better policy and services. Her work explores how meaningful participation is not only a democratic right, but a practical pathway to building more inclusive, resilient, and wellbeing-oriented communities.

Sigrid Hegna Ingvaldsen

Sigrid Hegna Ingvaldsen holds a PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences from NTNU and works as a researcher and policy advisor at Foundation Dam, one of Norway's largest health foundations. Her research focuses on social sustainability and open science. She authored Dam's 2025 framework operationalising social sustainability across the health voluntary sector.
