AI-Mod: A practice-oriented, academically grounded thematic learning module on students’ use of AI, designed for integration into existing courses
About the project
We will develop a practice-oriented, academically grounded thematic learning module— a plug-in curricular component— on students’ use of AI, ready for seamless integration into any master-level seminar. We conduct the development of this learning module within the Master seminars in Sociology (SOS3900/3901) and in Organization, Digitalization, Administration and Work (ODA3901). This learning module will consist of input and reading materials, reading list, selection of student and group work tasks, and a template for a possible assignment. The project conduct initial informal events with roundtables with students to receive initial inputs. We will subsequently conduct focus groups with students in the seminars to assess their AI-related needs, and a workshop with students to thoroughly integrate their perspectives in the development and subsequent piloting of the learning module. We will finish the project with an open seminar for all teaching staff, and publish the learning module under CC license.
Specific objectives
- Map needs and concerns regarding AI among master’s students in Sociology and in Organization, Digitalization, Administration and Work (ODA).
- Co-create hands-on learning activities that link theoretical reflection on AI with practical application in thesis work.
- Produce an openly licensed learning module (modulpakke) that can be imported into other courses with minimal adaptation.
Project design and timeline
The project runs from September 2025 to June 2027 and follows an iterative design-research logic in which students act as co-designers, pilot participants and evaluators.
