Scandinavian Network for Sustainable Talent Development in Sports

The Scandinavian Network for Sustainable Talent Development in Sports (SNSTDS) is a network for researchers from Scandinavian universities with the following aims, goals and activities:
Aim:
- Facilitate research collaboration in Scandinavia on talent development in sport
- Disseminate talent development research conducted in a Scandinavian context
- Facilitate collaboration on education and thereby increase the knowledge on talent development in sport
- Contribute through research to increase the sustainability of Scandinavian sport. Sustainability is in this context about reaching goals without overusing resources, and especially athletes’ psychosocial resources. In other words, it is about developing systems in which athletes can train towards their personal goals in ways that do not lead to burnout, motivations crises or mental health issues.
Goal:
- Strengthen the quality of Scandinavian research through collaboration and inspiration and through upscaling projects
Activities:
- Conferences/seminars for researchers in Talent Development in Scandinavia
- Conferences/seminars for national federations and sports institutions in Scandinavia
- Joint research application, projects, papers
- Joint master student supervision
