Objectives

The Norwegian Hydropower Centre's main objective is to ensure a continuous supply of newly graduated Bachelor's and Master's students in hydropower, and to provide and coordinate resources and efforts in teaching and research at NTNU and collaborating institutions. Collaborating institutions include universities, research institutes and research centers (including FMEs, etc.). NVKS' purpose is limited to education and research up to the Master's level.

This is done by:

  • Strengthening basic education in hydropower subjects through good research-based teaching that is academically and industrially relevant, both at NTNU and collaborating institutions and research projects.
  • Promoting recruitment of students to hydropower subjects, in line with the needs of the center partners.
  • Ensuring access to teaching expertise and capacity in hydropower
  • Making the hydropower subject and industry visible at NTNU and collaborating universities and educational institutions.
  • Facilitate good communication, implementation and dissemination of knowledge between center partners and relevant research environments and educational institutions in Norway
  • Facilitate collaboration across the academic environments at NTNU and collaborating universities.
