In FP5 we will analyze the effects of climate change on hydropower infrastructure and production and assess adaptive strategies that enhance hydropower's role in climate adaptation, such as flood protection and environmental mitigation.

Integrating gridded observational data, seasonal ensemble forecasts, and downscaled CMIP6 scenarios, the project aims to assess near- and medium-term runoff variability to guide hydropower adaptation and operational improvements, ensuring resilience against climate-driven hydro-climatic risks.
