Friends and colleagues who have helped me to write the book

  • Inger Lise Johansen: I had the privilege to be the supervisor of her master thesis (2010) and currently of her PhD study. Her project and master theses were written in parallel with chapters 2 and 4 of this book and it might be difficult to judge who inspired who. Inger Lise has also proof-read several chapters of the book and given a  high number of helpful comments.
  • Knut Øien: Knut wrote a first draft to Chapter 13 "Human Reliability Analysis". The current version of the chapter is rather different from his version, but his draft was a great inspiration for me - and it might be that his draft was a better version than the present. Chapter 18 "Development and Application of Risk Assessment" is partly based on a note in Norwegian that we together wrote in 2004. Our cooperation goes back to the late 1990s when I was the supervisor of his PhD study  "Risk Control of Offshore Installations; A Framework for the Establishment of Risk Indicators" (2001). Knut is currently a senior scientist at SINTEF and an adjunct professor (20% position) at the RAMS group.
