The course combines lectures, guest lectures, discussions, in-class activities, and mandatory student presentations. It demands significant preparation from students and active participation during class.

Students are assessed through a group presentation of a research article, accounting for 30% of the total grade (completed in teams of three), and a term paper, which makes up 70% of the total grade and can be completed individually or in groups of up to three students.
