About the course

Course content

The course covers concepts of innovation, entrepreneurship, and AI.

  • Innovation and entrepreneurship as competencies for value creation in business, the public sector, and organizations.
  • Practical use of AI in idea development, analysis, creative work, and learning.

Learning outcome

1. Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The student can explain innovation and entrepreneurship as broad value-creating competencies, relevant in both the private and public sectors, and reflect on how their own resources can be used in value creation processes.

2. Artificial intelligence for value creation and innovation

The student can use artificial intelligence as a tool in idea development, analysis, and learning, while also assessing ethical issues, bias, and limitations of AI in a critical and responsible manner.

3. Idea development and resources

The student can develop and further develop innovative ideas based on their own resources and context by applying principles from effectuation and the resource-based view.

4. Market survey and insight work

The student can conduct a simple market survey to identify needs, test assumptions, and develop insights about users and context, using design thinking as a framework.

5. Business model

The student can account for basic principles of the business model regarding creating, delivering, and capturing value in new and established enterprises, as well as in the public and non-profit sectors.

6. Oral communication and presentation

The student can communicate ideas, insights, and potential clearly and convincingly orally through a presentation.

Learning methods and activities

The course is digital and structured, with close follow-up from the course coordinator and student assistants. Students will experience a variety of learning materials and activities, including the use of AI

Exercises in the course consist of assignments, submissions, and quizzes. More information will be posted on Canvas at the start of the semester. The exercises must be approved before the student can take the exam.
