About

About the course

Course content

The course includes relevant laboratory techniques that are put together into comprehensive exercises. Methods such as end-point PCR, real-time PCR, bacterial genotyping and DNA isolation are combined into an exercise in which genetic composition of microgranisms in the environment is investigated. Furthermore, RNA isolation, cell culture, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, flow cytometry and protein analysis are combined to look at cellular stress. Stress analyzes are performed using several methods such as ELISA and HPLC to look at different methods for measuring the same analyte. The course concludes with a process and analysis where, among other things, fermentation, analysis of lipids / proteins / carbohydrates gives a little insight into industrial biotechnology.
