About the course
Course content
The course is part of the master study program on building informatics and wood building technologies, and will give a specialization within the topic. The project work can have either investigation or research content. Relevant topics for the project can be picked from the whole life cycle of a building project. The project work can be carried out either individually or in groups. The final report can be individual or a combination of individual and group work. The project work can be designed as a startup project for the master thesis.
Learning outcome
After the course the students should
- know how to specialize in a selected, specific topic using scientific methods
- carry out a major independent project work, including the a project plan, reporting partial results and writing a scientific project report
- put together additional knowledge from literature studies and other kinds of sources, and combining this with theoretical knowledge.
Learning methods and activities
Individual, supervised project work

The course will use lectures, exercises, team work and discussions. The student activities will be concentrated on team-based project work, where CDIO principles are important.
Further on evaluation
Project report including possible digital solutions. If fail there is no re-sit of exam.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Building Informatics and Wood Constructions (MIBIT)
Recommended previous knowledge
Completed first year master in the building informatics and wood building technologies.
