Course content

The course gives a basic introduction to research methods in social science that are used in counselling and adult learning. The students will acquire basic insight in and knowledge about how to plan and carry out simple qualitative and quantitative research designs. In addition, the students will learn how to analyze, interpret, report and evaluate data.

Learning outcome

Through this method course, the students will develop basic knowledge and skills in research methods in social science that are used in counselling and adult learning.

Learning methods and activities

Introductory course, lectures, exercises and pc lab.

Specific conditions

Required previous knowledge

As for admission to the Master's programme in Adult Learning.
The course is restricted to students admitted to the Master's programme in Adult Learning and the Master's programme in Counselling.
