Study environment - Globalisation and Sustainable Development - Master's Programme
Study environment
Trondheim is known for its excellent student environment and has repeatedly been ranked as Norway’s best student city. Trondheim has over 180,000 inhabitants and 33,000 students who leave a strong mark on the city. There is always something to do, and plenty of exciting activities to get involved in, both at and outside NTNU. Trondheim is especially known for the Student Society (Studentersamfundet), UKA, and a wide range of student associations and sports clubs.
In addition to offering vibrant city life and café culture, you have nature right outside your door, with easy access to forests, the coast, and the mountains. Trondheim also offers direct routes to most train stations and airports in the country, making the journey home never long if you are feeling homesick or planning to travel.
As a master’s student in Global Relations and Sustainable Development, you will have ample opportunities to get involved, both individually and through activities organized by the student association, Syntiro.
Learning environment
You will attend regular lectures, seminars, and training workshops that support your learning. Emphasis is given to student-driven learning involving collaboration, reflection, experience sharing, and project-related tasks.
The programme is internationally oriented with a focus on global relations. It brings together students from across the world and makes use of the long history of international collaboration, especially with institutions in low and middle-income countries at the departments to bring in literature and guest lecturers. The students in this programme will benefit from being a part of a strong international research milieu.
