PhD-programme in Information and Communication Technology

– Programme description

Introduction

The PhD programme in Information and Communications Technologies is research standardized at 180 credits (corresponding to 3 years full time studies). The course curriculum and the research topic are decided jointly by the candidate, the principal supervisor and the relevant Faculty Department.

Scope

To provide organized research training in various subfields information and communications technologies, with a broad education in the chosen subject area and deep scientific expertise in the scientific field of the thesis.

Subject areas

The PhD programme in information and communications technology offers graduate training in 5 principal areas:

  • Computer and Information Science
  • Electronics
  • Telecommunications
  • Telematics
  • Engineering Cybernetics

In addition, there are several cross-disciplinary fields based chiefly on ICT, cf. overview of subject areas and research groups within:

  • Department of Computer and Information Science
  • Department of Electronics and Telecommunications
  • Department of Telematics
  • Department of Engineering Cybernetics
