The Gunnerus Library
The Gunnerus Library was founded in 1768 as library to the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters and is the oldest scientific library in Norway (History of the Gunnerus Library).
The library is one of the most important libraries in the Nordic countries and our collections include fiction and specialist literature dating back to the 1500s from Norway, the Nordic countries and Europe. Our collections also include literature in archaeology, biology, genealogy and local history.
