Endnote and Zotero

EndNote

EndNote is a reference management tool freely available for NTNU's staff and students. Staff at St. Olavs Hospital and Central Norway Regional Health Authority has also access to this tool (contact local IT-support if the program is missing). EndNote is an useful tool for creating a personal library with references and full text documents, and as a tool for inserting and formatting citations and a reference list in a correct way in a text (e.g. theses, article manuscripts etc.). EndNote can be used on Windows and Mac.

You can learn to use EndNote or find answers to your questions in our EndNote-guide:

Welcome to the NTNU Library's EndNote guide

Let us know if you find any errors or missing topics in the guide.

Zotero

Zotero has a more simple functionality than EndNote and we recommend Zotero for students and others who are writing shorter texts. Zotero is a free, web-based tool for reference management. You can collect sources in a library and cite and format sources in a manuscript in the same way as described above for EndNote. Zotero can be used on Windows, Mac and Linux.
