Background and activities
Bengt Finstad is holding a DNV Professorship in Aquaculture Biology at NTNU. The working areas includes ecophysiology, aquaculture, smoltproduction/releases of fish, welfare/stress, pollution and other human impacts, salmonids at sea, fish diseases-parasites and biotelemetry.
Project leader and project partner on several projects including field and laboratory studies on fish, environmental monitoring and fish population monitoring. EU-projects, Research Council projects (national and international), projects from the industry, gouvernment and management. Published >125 peer-review papers, 4 book chapters and >150 technical reports and popular scientific papers.
