About

CV

I am an associate professor at the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning where I teach primarily in these programs;  Master in Childhood Studies,  Master of Science in Education and Upbringing and Bachelor in Education

I have a Master's degree in media communication and information technology and a PhD in interdisciplinary cultural studies, both at NTNU. In 2009, I was a visiting scholar at the Department of Integrated Studies of Education at McGill University, and at the Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers University. Spring of 2022 I was a visiting scholar at Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at University of Southern California.

As a childhood studies, media studies and education scholar, my research interests revolve around children's age identity, socialization and meaning-making in the interplay of popular culture, friendships, and family life. Theoretically, my focus is on the relationality of human and non-human actors in different sociomaterial assemblages.

In my spare time, Ane Møller Gabrielsen and I make songs about life in academia with our small band, The Peer Reviews
